PNM Recruitment Advice 2026!

The Zeta Omega chapter of Alpha Delta Pi here at UCF is so excited for recruitment this fall, and we can't wait to meet all of the potential new members. Joining UCF Panhellenic has given us lifelong best friends, sisters, and people who support us through every stage of life.

Ellie's testimony is a perfect example of how recruitment can truly shape your college experience. If you are a PNM (or maybe just interested in recruitment), she has some amazing recruitment advice that can help guide you on this exciting journey:

"Hi everyone!! My name is Ellie Chalela and I am the Vice President of Finance for ADPi :)

If I were to go back in time and give my past self advice, it would be to take a deep breath and realize how much fun you are going to have. Recruitment can definitely feel intimidating, especially walking into your first house, but I promise that feeling doesn’t last long. Once you meet your Rho Gam, start talking with recruiters, and get to know all the amazing people around you, the nerves and anxiety begin to fade, and will very quickly be replaced with excitement. Every woman you meet has been exactly where you are, and they’re just as excited to get to know you as you are to meet them. So just remember to have fun, laugh as much as possible, and be yourself!

Another piece of advice I would give is to talk to everyone, and make the first step in introducing yourself to the girls around you during recruitment and on bid day. After opening my bid day card to adpi and running home, I met my forever best friend on the bus after she came up to me and asked if we could sit together. That small introduction she made to me ended up leading to hundreds of memories of laughing until we couldn’t breath, endless movie nights, so many beach trips that of course led to ice cream after, and just overall the person I could be stranded on an island with and still end up laughing at the end of the day. I wouldn’t trade our friendship for the world, and it’s all because of recruitment and going Greek that made it happen.

When I signed up for recruitment, I never imagined it would lead me to my future bridesmaids, the friends I can tell absolutely anything, or the people who make every ordinary day so much brighter. These are the people who give me another reason to get out of bed every single day, and if I could go back in time and tell myself everything would workout exactly how it is supposed to, I would in a heartbeat.

As someone who has 2 older sisters, I went into recruitment looking for that sisterly bond that I grew up with, and that is exactly what I found joining adpi. These are the people who have built me to live my life to its fullest potential, just as my older sisters always did. These women have encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone in ways I never expected. They believed in me when I doubted myself, encouraged me to change my major to something I never thought I was capable of pursuing, and gave me the confidence to run for an executive board position. These girls truly have made me bloom into a different person than I was before recruitment. It’s them who have made me more outgoing and carefree, more loving and joyful. One of my greatest fulfillments in my life is the girls in ADPi who make me more radiant and alive, and the people who have truly helped me grow into someone I love being, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I know it can seem scary, but going through recruitment changed my life, and I have no idea the person I would be if I didn’t take the step to go through with it. Now, I can confidently say that these 4 years will be the best 4 years of my life, and it’s all because of ADPi. Wherever you end up, I hope you give yourself permission to embrace the process and enjoy every moment. It may just lead you to friendships that last a lifetime and a place that feels like home. For me, that place was ADPi, and I will forever be in debt to this chapter for growing me into the person I am today, and the person I will be in the future."
