The Zeta Omega chapter of Alpha Delta Pi here at UCF is so excited for recruitment this fall, and we can't wait to meet all the potential new members. By joining ADPi we found our lifelong best friends, sisters, and biggest supporters. If you are considering going through Panhellenic recruitment, 100% do it! Find your home away from home.

If you are a PNM (or maybe interested in doing recruitment), our sister Sydney Everett has some amazing recruitment advice that can help guide you on this exciting new endeavor:

"Hi!! My name is Sydney Everett, and I am the Vice President of Finance for ADPi.

If I could give just one piece of advice to anyone going through sorority recruitment, it would be this: choose the chapter you'll wish you could stay in longer—even years down the road. Recruitment is full of emotions and so many decisions in such a short amount of time. The wisest piece of advice I received as a PNM was to choose the house you can still picture yourself in years from now. Not just on Bid Day, but as a senior or alumni, looking back with bittersweet memories wanting to do it all over again.

Look for the genuine chapter where the bonds run so deep that your sisters become bridesmaids, mentors, shoulders to cry on, and people to laugh with about the silly moments of your day.

As someone who went through recruitment as a sophomore, I felt like I was “behind.” I was worried about having a "big" my age or joining a new member class mostly younger than me. But I quickly realized when you find the right chapter it does not matter. Being open-minded is so important—so many women have stood in your exact shoes, and what you’ll come to see is that sisterhood isn’t about your age or grade level. It’s about connections you make. Those numbers fall away, and what’s left are relationships that challenge you, support you, and make you better. Recruitment is just the beginning, so choose the place where you’ll be proud to say you grew up in.

When I joined Alpha Delta Pi, I thought I was just joining a sorority. I never expected it to become one of the best decisions of my life.

The women I’ve met here have been by my side through every high and every low, cheering me on when I’ve succeeded, and supporting me when I’ve struggled. No matter how different we all are, there is something so special about being grounded in the same values. I’m constantly surrounded by strong, lighthearted, confident, and driven women who inspire me in their own unique ways. I truly admire them for who they are and the way they carry themselves. Through this chapter, I’ve learned lessons that have shaped how I approach my career, my academics, my relationships, and the way I view the world.

ADPi has helped me grow not only as a student and leader, but as a woman. And for that, I will always be grateful."

Loyally,

Sydney Everett
