If you're considering going through sorority recruitment, you've probably heard terms like Big, Little, and Fam. But what do those actually mean?
At ADPi, the Big/Little process is one of the most exciting and meaningful traditions for our sisterhood. It’s about forming deeper connections, building mentorships, and finding your forever friends.
When new members join ADPi, they go on "Pi Pal Dates" with older members who are planning to take a Little. These are casual, fun hangouts — think coffee runs, meal plan dinners, or shopping trips. They’re the perfect way to get to know the sisters in our chapter.
A Big is an older sister who becomes your mentor, hype woman, and guides you through your ADPi journey (and beyond!). As a new member you become her Little, and together you’re part of a Fam, which includes your Big’s Big, and so on.
We know it can sound a little confusing at first, but once you're in it, it just clicks.
After a few weeks of Pi Pal Dates and getting to know everyone, we have a Big/Little Reveal, which is one of the most fun and emotional events of the semester. You finally find out who your Big is, and it’s the start of something really special — a bond that lasts far beyond college.
Ready to meet some of the amazing women taking Littles this fall? Scroll down to see a few of the faces of our future Bigs 💙
